Many years ago, I have ever work at soi Thaniya (ซอย ธนิยะ) near Silom road. I was very amaze because soi Thaniya looks like Japanese place. You can listen Japanese language and see crowd of Japanese at hear. There are many Japanese restaurants, Japanese Pub and Bar in this place. Moreover, many pub and bar are not welcome for Thai people! I know it's very weird but it is real.
Actually, I would to disguise to Japanese people and try to go to the Japanese pub. I guess inside the pub, it might has a Doraemon or Godzilla. :)
In addition to pub and bar, soi Thaniya has many Golf Shops. Thais and foreigner go to this place for buy golf equipment.
You can go to soi Thaniya by BTS sky train - Saladang station - or Taxi. I suggest BTS. It is easy and cheaper.
